I started out in the print agency world, what feels like ages ago. As soon as I could, I transitioned to digital design, specifically mobile app design in 2012. I spent 5 years creating mobile apps for big domestic and foreign clients.
After nearly five years as the sole designer at my previous role, I decided to join ZenGRC, a company with a larger design team, eager for collaboration and camaraderie. However, within two months, I unexpectedly found myself as the only designer again after the rest of the team left. Instead of moving on, I chose to stay. Over the next four years, I not only became part of a design team but built and led it from the ground up.
As a Product Design Lead and later Manager, I spearheaded the growth of a fully remote team spanning six time zones. While overseeing hiring, mentoring, and establishing efficient design processes, I also continued contributing as an Individual Contributor (IC), directly designing key features and delivering high-quality product designs. Under my leadership, the design team scaled significantly, helping the company grow from $2.8M to $20M in ARR. After almost five years, I decided it was time for a new challenge.
I joined a small startup as employee No. 11, taking on the role of the company's sole designer—a position I continue to hold as Principal Product Designer. As a strategic design leader, I drive the vision, strategy, and execution of user-focused product experiences, aligning them with both business objectives and user needs. Partnering with product, engineering, and executive teams, I deliver innovative, scalable, and accessible design solutions that propel the company forward.
